Velma's CleanZine, Issue #017 -- Happy Thanksgiving!
November 03, 2014
Well Hey There Again!

There's a New Kid in Town

If you live here in town, then you need to check out the new studio where I will be teaching Cycle classes for Cycle 614. This place is extraordinary and unlike any place I've ever taught before.

Here we keep track of all of your energy output so that you can progressively get better and better with each workout and compare the latest workout numbers to your most recent workout numbers. We have a system that measures your RPM (speed) and Power(resistance). Once you're all strapped into your bike, you just press your button so that your bike (just your bike number not your name registers on the screen) registers onto the flat screen televisions and you are off and running, 'er um cycling rather!

The system also ranks how you are doing compared to everyone else in the class, so it is motivational on every level imaginable. Your objective would be to get your energy output level higher and higher with each and every visit. We want you better and these are the tools to do it with. If you have signed up into the system properly then your results from each visit will be emailed to you. You do NOT need a heart rate monitor to have access to all these amenities.

We also are incorporating weights on the bikes, which is something I was not too thrilled with in the beginning as I am always looking out for the best interest of the client and will not incorporate anything that I find contraindicating. Much to my relief, I can plan and do workouts for you to suit my safety concerns and still give you a great workout, so you will be getting a total body workout. So it's all good! ....and no, it is NOT soul cycling.

To sign up, you just reserve your bike online (like you do on an airplane), so you know exactly where you will be sitting when you come to class. The bike is not unique to you, but your output will be, so how well you do completely depends on you! You are your own competition and we want you to be at your best. Go to the website now and check out when I will be teaching, or to just catch a class when you can!

Are you Fickle?

I was approached recently by someone who I would classify as a fickle person. I'm going to be judgmental here and say she seems to jump in and out of the same relationship that if you asked her she would even say herself is a terrible one for her. She jumps from one exercise trend to the other, yet when you look at her she remains the same. There is certainly nothing wrong with the way she looks in my humble opinion, but she has not changed a bit in the amount of time I've known her for as many exercise trends she's pursued and I'd say it has to be close to about 5 years now that I've known her. I will say that she remains consistent and persistent. Suffice to say that the only times that I am seeing her is, well, in the gym, and this is a good sign. Yes?

So, what's my point? Well, in the amount of time I've known her, she's always got these things to say, or questions. She has never hired me as her trainer mind you, but she always has these comments or questions about my profession.
